置身格列佛遊記裡的難忘體驗
一年一度的2015柏斯國際藝術節（Perth International Arts Festival），除有戲劇、音樂、電影、視覺與文學等不同媒材的藝術作品，還有大大小小的免費社群活動。來自法國以街頭互動藝術聞名的ROYAL DE LUX受邀演出，在融入澳洲原住民文化的故事背景裡，小女孩（the Little Girl Giant）和潛水伕（the Giant Diver）兩位巨人的伯斯市區街道的驚奇之旅，帶給所有觀眾不可思議的體驗。Walking into the world of Lilliput.
Perth International Arts Festival (February 13 to March 7 2015) this year, has invited the ROYAL DE LUX, an outstanding street theatre company, with their famous puppets—the Little Girl Giant and the Giant Diver, brought ‘The Incredible and Phenomenal Journey of The Giants’ to the streets of Perth.
看著擁塞的街道我實在不想走到巨人出發的公園去，而Barrack St附近又已擠的水洩不通，為了能順利捕捉巨人的身影，所幸往East Perth方向移動，在沒那麼擁擠的Hay St路旁埋伏。也許是人太多或是巨人太高走得太慢，正當大家嚷著怎麼還沒出現時，遠方便傳出了尖叫聲與歡呼聲；這會兒大家更興奮了，所有人拉長脖子觀望巨人會從什麼地方冒出來！
鏘鏘！是第一棒登場的小女孩巨人，身著湖水綠色的洋裝徐徐向市中心走來，身後的樂團車隊還為她配了一個非常不搭嘎的電子搖滾樂⋯⋯話雖如此，有些詭異的組合還是讓現場氣氛超high的！許多人攜家帶眷的來，大人小孩開心地隨音樂起舞，跟隨著小女孩的隊伍緩緩前進。
其實木偶和洋娃娃對我而言，都是看起來有點邪門的東西，而且它放大這麼多倍、還靈活的轉頭眨眼，要不是配著很嗨的音樂還有很歡樂的旁白，是有些嚇人（雖然聽不懂法文旁白在貢啥）就當小女孩遊歷了一下午，累了也是時候休息，開始移動到她的終點Langley Park休息。
話說這劇情安排得相當細膩，小女孩到了位於Swan River旁的家，便脫鞋更衣準備上床睡覺去。有趣的是，小女孩換睡衣時，還出現了「障眼法」來避免大家看到光溜溜的她—大量的煙幕和吵鬧的特技表演—等煙一退去，她也已經換好衣服準備睡覺了！矮人團隊（其實跟我們一樣高啦）還準備了唱片機放音樂讓小女孩一覺好眠，而她入睡後還會發出鼾聲，是不是很擬人化呢！
隔天登場的是潛水伕巨人—第一眼看到他心裡暗想「哇！真的是巨人欸」—小女孩身高6米，但潛水伕足足有11米高！特別是他從公寓中穿過時，顯得特別巨大（當下好羨慕住在海景第一排的人們）初登場的潛水伕戴著笨重的潛水頭罩，看不清楚他的表情、只見他眼珠子不停轉呀轉的。
等到結束市區的行程，潛水伕來到了小女孩所在的河濱公園要與她相會；當他倆並排時又再次感到潛水伕的高大。故事裡的劇情是他們最後會一起乘船從Swan River離去，而故事裡使用的船隻還有噴氣孔等，也在市中心街道上以裝置藝術的型態出現。
相信許多人跟我一樣這輩子都還沒看過「巨人」，這次的體驗可說是和巨人同行驚奇之旅，對於格列佛記的故事彷彿身歷其境，覺得好幸運自己可以參與到這樣的盛事！
On the Valentine’s Day weekend, from Northbridge to East Perth, the Giants walked along the street in CBD. At the first sight of the festival advertisement, I felt the photo of the Little Girl looks a bit scary, but I still decided to join the parade cause I was curious. When I got into CBD, I was shocked by the street were full of people, never seem that before since I have lived in Perth.
It was too crowded so I didn't want to go to Wellington Square, that the Giant departure from; but I chose to move from Barrack St to Hay St toward East Perth, which were less people and it was easier for me to take some photos. After a while, I heard someone screaming and cheering, then everyone getting very exciting including me, we started to searching like a giraffe for the voices came from.
Blaah! Here’s the Little Girl Giant in her green dress, walking down here slowly; the band behind her played a electronic music which was not very suit for the puppet, but was very high for the atmosphere! Many families dancing with the music and kept walking with the giant.
To be honest, a puppet or a doll looks a bit evil for me sometime, and now we have a GIANT one with winks, will be so scary for me if there were no happy background music! After a long day for the Little Girl Giant, it’s time to rest so she started to walk down to Swan River, to the destination of today—Langley Park.
When the Little Girl Giant arrived to her place next to the river, she has to get change and go to the bed. When the ‘Lilliputs’ helping Little Girl get change, the smoke and cars turns up, tried not to show the naked girl in front of people, funny! Lilliputs also prepared the music player for Little Girl, and when she fell as sleep, she was even snoring!
The next day was the Giant Diver—I thought ‘Oh that’s a GIANT!’ at the first sight—the Little Girl was 6 metres, but the Diver was 11 metres. When he passing the apartments in city, looks even taller! When the Giants have finished their city tour, both of they were moved to Langley Park; it was the first place when the Giants meet each other in Perth. And when the Little Girl stood next to the Diver, I felt his huge again. In the story, the Giants will sailing from Perth to other place, their boat and tools were also shows in the city to be a part of the street theatre.
It was so cool to felt myself in a Lilliput's world, kind of childhood dream came true, maybe I'll see the giants by the ROYAL DE LUX some other day!
