來澳洲打工渡假，除了到語言學校付費上課外，許多教會或是語言中心提供了免費的英文課供非英文母語的朋友參加，除了省錢更可以讓你交到來自各國的背包客朋友。這邊列出我所知道在伯斯的的八個課程，附上地圖、課程時間與教師資訊，還有我參加後的感想給大家參考。My personal experience in 8 different ESL classes in Perth, including conatct details and map.

以下大部分課程是免費的，並會在課程後加入聖經導讀，非教友（我本人也不是）、或是英語初學者也不用擔心；通常課程只有在各學期中進行，例假日或學校假期沒有課程請留意各單位網站的更新。[Updated: 29 Dec 2018]

在我參加過的教會英文課裡，屬這裡最有組織、且師資與環境設施完善。有針對不同英語程度設計的的課程，老師們也都有專業英語教學背景，更提供圖書借閱與托兒服務。成員除了有不少日本媽媽，還有UWA學生與專業人士，課後有聚餐、茶會與讀書會等社群活動，是很棒的機會可以認識許多當地的朋友。三小時的課程包含Tea time，且沒有聖經導讀。

The most organised one of all the English class I had joined before, the facilities are nice and all the teacher has professional English teaching experience. Features: Classes provided for all levels; and a creche provided to look after pre-school children; a number of books are available to borrow from the library. And here's more activities like book club, "tea & talk" meet up group and events from church community.

在分組課程正式開始前，會透過半小時的小遊戲或問答暖身，幫助新參與的同學找到適合自己的班別。我上過Robyn老師的中級班，她是身障生的國文(英語)老師，相當親切且有耐心，上課風格也相當活潑輕鬆；課程內容屬生活化的應用，大概是台灣國中程度的英文文法與字彙，可學到在電話禮儀、在外點餐與購物等生活中常用的會話句型，因此學生大多是有英文基礎的旅行者或新移民。目前挑戰Cathy老師的進階班，她長年在香港教授英語，每堂課都有詳盡的教材與進度，針對時事議題討論、字彙分析與寫作練習，大概是台灣高中、大學程度的英文文法與字彙，學習使用正確文法與完整的句型，學生大多是專業人士或UWA學生。

這是由創辦St Matthew's ESL的Kaye與幾位老師另闢的ESL課程，師資團隊都有專業英語教學背景；Kaye與Blodwyn曾在中國教英文，Kaye的先生Ian是ECU的教授，在ESL中指導IELTS口說與寫作訓練。今年二月九號是第一堂課，三小時的課程包含Tea time，且沒有聖經導讀。

This new ESL class runs by Kaye and teachers from St Matthew's ESL class; Kaye and Blodwyn used to be English teachers in China, and Ian were ECU's professor who help student for the IELTS writing in ESL class. Here would suit anyone who lives in Karrinyup, Doubleview, Scarborough, Innaloo, Gwelup, Stirling etc.

這裏提供三個不同等級的會話班，但我參加的那次只有兩組可能學生人數不多，在St Matthew's ESL任教的Carol老師也在這裡教中級會話；老師都們都是專業教師。我在這Barbara老師的進階班，課程內容也是相當精實；一開始先有字彙辨意的暖身，接著透過文章解析學習文法、朗讀與聽力訓練，課程最後還有針對文章議題進行分組辯論（好硬啊）。兩個半小時的課程包含Tea time，且沒有聖經導讀。

Runs by a team who teach Levels 1, 2 and 3 Conversational English, including listening, writing skill practice and vocabulary learning; one of the teacher--Carol, she's also teaching in St Matthew's ESL class on every Wednesday morning.

South Perth Uniting Church

這個課程原本在Como的韓國教會Uniting Church，當初的上課方式是以生活會話為主，由一個老師對不超過三個學生的小組進行討論；志工老師大多是退休的爺爺奶奶，他們都相當親切也很樂於跟你話家常，每個老師上課的方式和內容都不同，有些會帶到聖經故事有些不會。各國籍學生都有，日本家庭主婦、媽媽們居多，也有不少歐美背包客。

This class used to be held on the other place(Como Uniting Church). Usually 1 to 3 student doing conversation practice with 1 teacher, and most of the teacher were retired person, they were lovely, and you might met different teacher in every time.

如果你住在市中心可以搭免費的綠貓公車前往Leederville站(火車Joondalu線)，在走路約十分鐘可抵達。網路上很多資訊說這裡是日本教會，但韓國人也不少；這裏由不同老師在不同的時段上課，課程內容跟風格也不盡相同，可選擇適合的老師或時間參加。各個國籍的學生都有，日、韓背包客佔多數。課程最後約有半小時的聖經導讀。
You could get here by take the free Green Cat Bus from City to Leederville Stn(Train station of Joondalup Line), then walk about 10 mins. The english class here runs by different teachers, you can choose to join some of them by the teacher who suit you or the time either. There's a half hour bible study in each class before it finish.

目前參加過一次週四晚間的課程，由兩位Oz老師分組上課，每組不超過十人。以聖經故事為教材，進行文法分析、生字說明與寫作練習等，較少會話練習的機會，但老師會個別指導寫作練習的錯誤。一個半小時的課程中間沒有休息，成員多為日、韓籍。
I've been one class at Thursday night, one and half hour without break time, there were 2 Oz teachers runs two group, about 8 to 10 students in each group; learned the vocabulary and grammar from a short Bible story, and teacher will help you to correct the pronunciation and writing, but do not have many conversations.

City Free English Classes 

Citiplace Community Centre(On the 1st floor of Perth Train Station)

Wednesday 6pm-8pm

上課地點位於Perth車站往Northbridge的空橋旁(經過票口與Priceline後)，門口有告示牌，課程包含閱讀與討論等綜合內容，並提供茶點。僅參加過兩次課程，課程由位某間韓國教會贊助，老師是Oz、很多韓國與日本背包客還有少數歐美背包客，上半堂課會透過一篇簡單的時事新聞學習單字與文法，tea time後會有透過一篇聖經故事學習單字。免費課程上課地點又交通便利，可以來認識新朋友。
On the 1st floor of Perth Stn(NOT Perth Underground Stn), on the way from Myer to Northbridge via Perth Stn, after you pass ticket gates and Priceline on the right-hand side.
